Essays – Introduction
– Where thought sat – and left
These are not academic essays. They are reflections – fragments of a long conversation with the world, spoken in a voice that shifts between personal, political, philosophical. Some are rooted in place: Bulgaria, its silences, its rituals, its ghosts. Others stretch further – into history, memory, identity, Europe, language. A few laugh out loud; most do not.
What they share is a refusal to obey the rules of belonging. They are neither strictly reportage nor strictly confession. Some are arguments, others wounds. But all try to name something that resists quick definition – a hesitation, a paradox, a truth without a flag.
The pieces are grouped into loose constellations. Don’t expect symmetry. Expect sparks.
